  • The paper presents a systematical review on the recent studies for the problem of decomposition of strain and strain rate in finite elasto-plastic deformation theory. Particularly, a detailed analysis is given to the different arguments, which exist in many different schools. At the same time, the authors also present their own point of view and re-evaluate the problem of strain rate decomposition on the basis of defect field theory.
