Abstract

Abstract

The space-timeConservation Element and Solution Element method (CE/SE method) isa novel high-resolution computational method for equations ofconservation law. It has many merits such as the clear physicsconcept, high accuracy and the simple process of constructing thescheme. This method has a very great future. This paper summarizesthe basic principles, the history of CE/SE method, the applicationfields and the recent advances. The future research topics and thedevelopment tendency of the CE/SE method are discussed in detail.
