The coupled problemsbetween computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and computationalstructural dynamics (CSD) related to nonlinear aeroelasticity arehighly nonlinear in time domain. The main numerical techniques andalgorithms of CFD/CSD coupled solution for nonlinearaeroelasticity are presented in this paper, including nonlinearbehavior simulation technique in fluids and structure, effectivegrid deformation strategies, consistent fluid/structure interfacetreatment, computational efficiency with reduced order modelmethod, well documented aeroelastic experiments for aeroelasticcode validation, and multidisciplinary coupled solution. Recentstudies are summarized and compared and significant conclusionsare drawn. CFD/CSD coupled method, due to its favorable numericalcharacteristic, will surely become a predominant tool for solvingnonlinear aeroelasticity problems.
