The saturatedseepage-stress coupling problems in rock mass are oftenencountered in the field of seepage flows occurring in the dam andits control, stability analysis of hydraulic tunnels, traffictunnels, underground caverns, rock slopes, dam foundations andmining engineering and hydraulic fracturing in reservoir. Thepurpose of this review is to present and classify the mechanicalmodels often applied to seepage-stress coupling problems in thesefields of rock mass:equivalent continuum model, fracture networkmodel,double-medium model, fracture mechanics model, continuousdamage mechanics model and statistical model. The first threemodels focus mainly on dealing with the seepage field by means ofclassical rock mechanics, and the rest models pay more attentionson failure damage of the intact rocks with coupling effect. Thenthe merits and drawbacks of these models were pointed out and someoutstanding results from each model were also summarized. Finally, suggestions for further improvement were put forward.
