This paper reviews the progress achieved in themulti-fields analysis on behavior of composite shell during fabrication andservice periods. The issues discussed are as follows:(1) Wounding stress design in the wound process,(2) Temperature and stress analysis in the curing process.(3) Nonlinear stress field in the autofrettage process.(4) Stress analysis during service periods.(5) Damage configuration study for composite shell under low velocity impact. The emphasis is placed on the filament wound vesselwith metal liner, and some perspectives for the research field are alsodiscussed.
