Cytoskeleton is a transducting medium of forces andbiochemical signals and plays a very significant role in function andmorphology of living cells. Cytoskeletal mechanics involvesmicro/nanostructure models of cytoskeletal network. We can explore theimportant life activities of cell and investigate the transduction anddistribution of mechanical forces in cell, the chemical reaction and signaltransduction through the interconnected cytoskeletal network, andsee thecoupling of mechanics and biochemistry at the molecular level. In this paper, we particularly review the recentmodels of cytoskeletal mechanics, theoretical analysis and keyaccomplishments from biomechanical point of view.
