This paper briefly introduced the basiccharacteristics and main types of soil erosion on hillslopes, and summarizedthe research advances in the dynamic process and prediction model of soilerosion on the hillslopes, including the surface-sealed soils, splasherosion, sheet flow (interrill) erosion, rill erosion, sediment transport ofoverland flow, critical slope gradient of soil erosion, and predictionmodeling of soil erosion. Also, the future trends of soil erosion dynamicsare discussed.
