REVIEW ON EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF CONTROL OF SEPARATION FLOW

  • Experimental investigations of control of separation flows of several typical geometry configurations have been reviewed, such as, 2D backward facing step, airfoil, axisymmetric bluff body, etc. Mechanism of excitation controlling separation flow was analyzed, and a universal dimensionless forcing frequency range of the optimum excitation was attained. In addition, some forcing methods were introduced, and the prospects to their developments were presented.
