RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN MODELING OF RANDOM FATIGUE CRACK GROWTH

  • Since Virkler et al. published their experimental results exposing the statistical nature of fatigue crack growth, many models of random fatigue crack growth have been proposed so far. In the present paper these models are summarized and reviewed concisely from both mathematical and physical points of view. The relationship among these models is pointed out. Some remarks on the further research need are also given.
