  • In this paper, the biochemical and dynamical processes of chemical substance and biomass in contaminated ground water are presented. As an example,a mathematical model to quantify the interaction and movement of organism and bacteria in nonhomogeneous ground water flow is developed. Some important problems such as large gradient and different characteristic time occurring in the governing equations are briefly described, which is important for numerical modelling.
