THE NON-EQUILIBRIUM GLASS TRANSITION OF POLYMERS AND ITS RELATED RHEOLOGICAL BEHAVIOR

Polymeric, glass, forming materials demonstrate , distinctly different physical, mechanical and rheological properties through glass transition and undergo continuous relaxation in glass state. The relevant classical theories are overviewed. A three dimensional mathematical representatipn (PVT/PST) by joint consideration of thermodynamics, statistical mechanics and kinetics is proposed, which proves most versatile in this area at present.
