Abstract: n this paper we outline some of the recent results in the mathema-tical theory of infinite dimensional dynamical systems,Our main objective isto highlight the construction theory of the approximate inertial manifolds andthe relevant numerical methods and discuss their possible applications in thestudy of 2D Navier-Stokes equations.-
