Abstract: A review of reccnt advances in cavitation damage research is made in the present work. Cavitation damage occurred in a hydraulic machinery in varying degrees is a complex phenomenon. Therefore, studies on cavitation erosion were performed in many fields, such as in hydrodynamics, material science and physico-chemistry. The achievements in both basic and applied researches are summarized in this paper so as to promote further investigations.
