  • The recent years have seen exciting advances in the application of finite element techniques to the solution of biomechanic. Nowhere is this more apparent than in studies of embryo morphogenesis, where computer simulations have made significant breakthroughs in our understanding. The purpose of this paper is to outline some recent achievements in computer modelling of neurulation gastrulation. cardiac looping and cell mechanics and to take a brief look on the future of computer modelling.
