Abstract: The advance in generalized thermoelasticity near recent 10 years is summarized in this paper. It includes the development of different generalized thermoelastic theories and the related expanded theories, such as generalized thermo-piezoelectric theory, generalized thermoelastic diffusion theory, generalized thermoviscoelastic theory. The solving methods of generalized thermoelastic problems are also summarized. It provides a comprehensive understanding of generalized thermoelasticity and its trends. We wish it can help researchers who are engaged in generalized thermoelasticity study.
